1. CLAT –

The Common Law Admission Test is the most renowned law entrance examination in the country. Through this exam admissions are offered into 24 National Law Universities in the country. These NLUs provide a 5 year integrated LLB course and one year LLM course to the selected candidates. The CLAT scores are also accepted by many private law colleges for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The CLAT exam is a test of candidates’ general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, comprehension and current affairs. This paper that lasts for 2 hours consists of 150 multiple choice type questions carrying one mark each. 2. LSAT India –

The LSAT India exam is conducted by the Law School Admission Council LSAC & Personal VEU. Through this exam, admissions are taken into undergraduate and postgraduate law colleges in India. This examination conducted twice a year consists of 92 questions based on reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, and logical reasoning. Through this exam admissions are taken into various Indian colleges including :

3. AILET –

The National Law University in Delhi conducts its own law entrance exam. This university does not accept scores of any other examination therefore it conducts its own exam to take admissions into integrated 5 year BA LLB, 1 year LLM, and PhD programs. The pattern of this examination remains the same as the CLAT exam however the examination duration is increased to 1 hour 30 minutes.

 

4. SLAT –

The Symbiosis Law Aptitude test is conducted by Symbiosis International University Pune for its four campuses in Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, and Noida. There are no integrated programs that this Law College offers. However there are undergraduate three and five year LLB courses available at Symbiosis University. 

 

5. MHCET-LAW –

The Maharashtra Common Law Entrance Test is a State Level Examination for admissions into law courses in Maharashtra. Qualifying candidates are offered a 5 year integrated course in BA LLB, and 1 year LLM. The duration of this exam is 2 hours while the examination tests a candidate in English language, current affairs, legal aptitude, logical and analytical reasoning, and mathematical aptitude. The various colleges that accept MHCET schools for admission include,

6. Army Institute of Law Entrance Test/All Entrance Test AIL LET –

The Army Institute of Law entrance test is another law examination in the country conducted by the defense forces. Through this exam admissions are taken into the Army Institute of Law established by the Indian army at Patiala. This institute is run by the Army Welfare Education Society AWES. The institute offers a 5 year integrated BA LLB program but in this Institute only 20 civilian seats are available. 

 

Some other important law entrance exams include DU Law Exam & BHU UET conducted by Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University respectively. These examinations take admission of students into the Delhi University Law College and BHU Law College respectively. Both these entrance exams are also very famous among candidates preparing to make a legal career. Through both these exams admissions are taken into integrated 5 year BA LLB programs in Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University.
